Must be running serious power and a serious transmission also.

Thats more than stupid fast thats insane fast. Quicker than proper fast road bikes by quite a bit. They can do low 10's at 140mph.

Must be doing 0-100 in 4.5 secs.

Don't you seriously have to know what you're doing to tune a turbo engine to that extent?

Watched the dyno run of the car - bloody amazing.

Yes i would say so.. Not many people do it, and inevitably there are failures along the way.

What a car, what a performance it put down the strip.

Apparently all on stock internals. ie Cams, pistons, rods and head etc.

Hell! all stock internals..........not even highlift cams, forged pistons? etc, that's either a testament to Porsche engineering or something. Wonder what the longevity of the engine is though.

The driver knew his stuff as well managing to get all that power down!

I was just reading about that car yesterday. Conversion is $50K. It`s based on the 997 GT2, so only RWD not 4WD around 850hp at the wheels.

Saw it on PH today....

0-60 in 2.5 secs (claimed). 1000hp at crank, 850hp at wheels. Believable as well by the looks of how it went up the strip!

Couldn't seem to get that monstrous power down at first (not surprising really).

Imagine trying to take that lot off for warranty service.

thats why i asked on the yotube link whether it was a gt2 or not. Still. WOuld have though it would have struggled for traction being rwd and nearly 1000bhp at the fly.

going by that quartermile time and immensely high trap speed id say it was doing 0-100mph in little over 4.5 secs.

Just had an email come through.

''Because of the way the car is configured, we can dyno this 997 as awd or rwd. It's too stressful to dyno a 997 Turbo on a Dynojet (our in-house dyno) as AWD as it puts too much stress on the front differential clutch mechanism. The car is run in AWD trim, not RWD. RWD was done only for dyno testing.''

So it is a 997 turbo not GT2? Or is it a GT2 but converted to run both?

the only tuned porches i like are RUF, but they are really a manufacturer. They make complete cars.

Apart from the above porches should be left standard.

I assumed it's a 997 turbo. If you click on the 'more info' in the area to the right of the main vid where it says subscribe in yellow, there's info about the car and it says 997 turbo?
