BMW F30 Drivers Heated Seat Fault
Hi all,
I have a 2017 bmw 320d m sport saloon Yesterday randomly my drivers heated seat stopped working. The 3 led indicator lights on the button came on when i first pressed it and then immediately turned off and now nothing. Passengers side still working fine. I’ve checked all fuses, even swapped the passenger and drivers heated seat fuses just for the sake of it and still no joy. The electric bolster is still working so there is definitely power coming to the seat. I’ve also disconnected and reconnected the big plug under the seat. Plugged it into a diagnostics computer and it came back with the following error: “E58C49: Seat Heating Driver: Missing LIN Component” Any ideas what a LIN component is? I’ve also read up online that one of the heating elements could be broken. I believe there are 3 heating elements on the m sport seats (back rest, base, extendable front section), how would I figure out which one has gone bad if that is the case? Would really like to get this sorted as soon as given the cold weather Any help is much appreciated! |

Yes sorted today. A plug under the seat that connects to the seat module had a burnt wire. On closer inspection the plug had also melted at the connection. Purchased a replacement seat loom from BMW dealers for £48 (trade account)
Replaced the loom, all working now 👍🏼 |
