Pushing all my chips in tomorrow morning... 330i on the line - Advice please!
Gents...
Many of you have been responding to my threads regarding my first Bimmer purchase and I really appreciate your time. Here's the deal: Went down to a non-BMW dealer yesterday and hammered out a price on their 330i and trade on my Mitsubishi. They are scheduledto call me Sunday morning with financing details. After sleeping on things and doing more research, I have come down off the car just a little... mainly due to it not being a CPO. It has 8 months left on the 4/50 warranty. I found a CPO 330xi with a few less amenities but it only has 24K and the AWD will give me a bit more piece of mind driving up here in CT. The 330 I am looking at though will come with brand spanking new Continental All-seasons. Same color and interior, my first choice. So... do I push all my chips in tomorrow morning on the phone and try for another $1,500 off or so, fully prepared to hang up the phone if it's a no-go? I mean this car was an auction car and from what I understand, 330's have been going for low prices at the auctions. Perhaps this dealer still has a bit of $$$ to play with? Your input and opinions are GREATLY appreciated and again, I thank you for your time. |

if they bought it at the auction push them hard, i bet that they got that car for around 10K, auctions are the cheapest place you can get a car. try to get more off, we got 3K off from a brand new 328i from a DEALER so 1.5 from a non certified dealership seems like your not trying hard enough.

I just bought a CPO 06' 330i 4 days ago at a BMW dealership so here's some info that hopefully will help you make a decision.
The listed price was $29.995 and brought it down to $24,500 Car was Sparkling Graphite with 20K miles and the following options: Premium Package -Universal garage door opener -interior auto-dimming mirror w/ compass -power folding exterior auto-dimming mirrors -power lumbar support -BMW Assist and bluetooth system Active steering Park Distance Control If you are planning to mod it and you don't care about the guarantee go for the first option, if you are not into mods consider the fact that CPO's offer 6 years or 100K miles guarantee, some have remaining maintenance as well, and they give you brand new tires (most likely run-flat). The 330i is a great car, nice choice. BenŽ |

Agreed! Plus you would get the Xi which is awesome in the bad weather. Piece of mind...can't beat that!

Are we talking CPO 330xi or non-CPO 330i? These are both non-navi?
This is what I would consider a good deal: CPO 330xi - $26,000, you also will get 0.9% and first two months payments non-CPO 330i - $21,000 (if not listed on autofax as "damage reported at auction" or $18,000 if the damage was listed) I wouldn't get worried about a bumper paint. If it was noted at auction then the dealer bought the car for a lot less. Last edited by clickclickboom; 01-03-2009 at 10:06 PM.. Reason: saw the 330i had bodywork |

Great information gents... I can't thank you enough.
I should mention, the non-CPO 330i is loaded. No sports package but has everything else. The CPO xi is basic... no frills. At this point, I am trying to figure what a good price to get the 330i would be. Someone just said that 21K would be a good price as it is an auction car. Any other opinions? I need to have this number ready for tomorrow morning when the dealer calls. |

I would go for the 330i, personally. Buy an extended warranty, and get yourself some winter tires next winter and you have a better equipped car for much less money. But, you can't go wrong with either.

Depends on what you can pull together for an extended warranty, but I really like being able to bitch straight to BMW when something goes wrong, and not have to call 30 people in India first

What's your tolerance for 'dealing with crap'? You could certainly get the non CPO car and an aftermarket warranty and potentially save a ton of money but there is a chance you'll get hosed (examples: warranty co goes belly up, coverage approval is hard to get, customer service sucks). Look up the car's auction price and dealer trade in price and do the deal if you can get the price somewhere in between those two. The way the car market is going you should be able to take any dealer to the cleaners
On the other hand there is something nice about being able to give the bmw dealer a call when there's a problem, drop your car off, get a loaner and continue with your life while someone deals with the problem. |

OP- get me the last 7 of the vin and I'll run the history on the car. If you can get another $1500- 2000 off the car you can have it CPO'd at a BMW store and not have to worry.
