Bav Sound Subs on a Base System

Has anyone here swapped their base system subs for the Bav Sound subs? Curious to know if the difference is notable and worth the upgrade.

You will need a better amp to drive the subs properly. If you have the base system I'd suggest doing the full on Bimmertech swap of all drivers, subs, and amp. But I think you can just buy the Bimmertech amp and probably make your stock speakers sound worlds better for a cheap start.

I have the bimmertech amp/subs and speakers in the dash and rear cargo tray. I have the aftermarket B&W in the front doors ( wanted the led lights). Big improvement over the base system. Bimmertech will send you tunes for the amp on request. You can also change settings yourself if you are so inclined.
I am very happy with this upgrade. Won’t be a great improvement at very low volumes but once you crank it up to around 50% or more it is a very noticeable improvement.

I’ve got an X7 with standard HiFi system. Do you think just switching the amp would be a noticeable improvement? The full system swap is more than I want to bite off, at the moment.

I got AliExpress H&K subs on my base audio car, it gets distorted at around 70% as there's not enough power to power the amp

Yes, a substantial difference. Bimmertech just came out with a revised version of their already very good amp.

Replacing the awful subwoofers that came with the car with the Bav was the first mod i did to my car. Even without the amplifier as many guys are suggesting, there was a noticeable difference.

Some high end models come with HK as the standard (M550, X7 M60, etc).
