45e stopped updating information to myBMW app
Since Wednesday my 23 45e stopped sending information (location, charge, mileage, etc) to the app. As a result I can't remotely control the vehicle now. I tried a few things but none worked:
1. Restart app. 2. Log out then log in again in the app. 3. Delete and reinstall the app. 4. Restart the iDrive computer. 5. Check ID updates (there isn't any) 6. sync updates on installed apps (this is the posts from other forums but there's nothing for me). Even updated my iOS version to the latest. So I'm a bit at a loss here... Has anyone else encountered the same thing? I'm going to the dealer to have the car looked at next week, but was hoping there's a DIY solution to save the trip. TY! |

I'm having the exactly same issue on my 2023 45e since last week (Nov 26). None of solution has worked for me so far. I've scheduled with my dealer this Wednesday.

My issue started on Nov 23. But it makes me wonder if there's some server stuff happening on BMW software level. Anyway, you'll get to the dealer before me. Good luck and I hope they find something!

Basically, I followed this step: https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=29508434 However, the steps didn't work when I tried for the first time and the 2nd attempt but 3rd attempt worked. And I think I know what was the difference between 1st & 2nd vs 3rd attempt. 0. Make sure your "My BMW" app is up-to-dated. (My one wasn't up-to-dated, so I updated through AppStore) 1. (if 45e) Unplug charger and close charger door. 2. Make sure the car is parked outside with a clear view of the sky. 3. Turn off bluetooth on the phone. 4. Start the engine and keep it running during the rest of the steps 5. Perform 70s reset by holding down the volume button for exactly 70 seconds. iDrive will reboot several times, but keep holding down the volume button until the end of 70 seconds. 6. After 70s, release the button and wait for iDrive to turn on. 7. Go to Apps and click on Option button. Once 'Update Apps and Services' is available and not greyed out, update the apps. At step #7, 'Update Apps and Services' menu was greyed out when I tried it at 1st and 2nd attempt. So I thought my service was already up-to-dated and I skipped #7. At 3rd attempt, 'Update Apps and Services' button was also disabled for the first time but I waited for a minute then suddenly disabled 'Update Apps and Services' menu was enabled! So I think you need some patience at step #7. Although there was no real update but once 'Update Apps and Services' check is finished in a few seconds, all the remote services started functioning again.
