Full atf fluid replacement (not flush). Ga6l45r.
I was speaking with my old mechanic buddy earlier and he told me to just have someone do a complete fluid change with one of those pump machines (not a flush). You know, you unplug both trans cooler lines and fill it while you drain it. I have seen this done on other cars but have only used drain and fills on the E90 as I believed it wasn't possible, or beneficial in our cars. I kind of like the idea of doing it all in one shot rather than doing 3 different drain and fills. Thoughts?

The 45R is super easy to service. Drain, drop pan, replace filter, gasket and refill. Run and top off fluid when at proper temp. If you want to get more fluid out. Skip the top off process and drain again. Then refill. You could do that a few times. The Valvoline max life atf is fairly inexpensive. I plan to do one drain and refill in mine. That's sufficient.
