Ventilated Seats

I cannot find any option or package on the 2023 X5 xDrive40i for Ventilated Seats. Am I missing this or is it not available?

AFAIK it was part of the Luxury Seating Package but not available now due to shortages, only comes on the M50i now standard.

It's still an option for the 45e in the build configurator.

It's no longer available for the base models (since August 2022). Probably temporarily but who knows. Neither is the merino leather. You get them on the 45e and the M50i.

I have them on my car. I never use them. They barely work. They're not worth the money they're not like ventilated seats. That I have had on other vehicles that do work.

And you will have many people say they do a great job. It mostly is a matter of expectations and knowing what they are designed to do. Unlike many manufactures that have cooled seats that blow cooled air out, BMW's ventilated seats suck the air in and use that flow for a wicking effect to keep you dry and provide some cooling. For that they work very well.

At first I was disappointed when I learned that BMW's ventilated seats aren't actually cooled. But in my current car (with actual cooled seats), it's only something I use briefly on hot days since it feels a bit strange to have cold air blowing on your butt and back. The more sublte approach that BMW takes will no doubt make it something I can use more often.

...yes to this ^^^. The ventilated seats can help in times other than hot weather...like if your clothing or outerwear is wet from rain/snow/sleet/etc...the ventilation feature can help evaporate or wick the moisture away. And if its cool/cold...you can use the ventilation in conjunction with your heated seats to warm you as well as help with the evaporation process .
