t-mobile here i come minus t-mobile 3g= but a 16gb white 3g phone with t-mobile .

so who else is going to unlock their 3g?

^ o man tell me about it. i had the original 2g iphone before on t-mobile and i sold it like a week ago to prep for this and i bought my 3g and it's just sitting on the charger. so im back on using my original t-mobile nokia phone atm

your friend is using the sim card unlock method which can cause problems from jamming the tray to frying the iphone board and more info here from the pros themselves: http://www.theiphoneblog.com/2008/08...im-card-hacks/

does alltell use sim cards? if so yes you can use it. any phone carrier in the world that uses sim card your gold

No, they don't use sim cards. Alltel is teh gay. Verizon recently bought them so maybe we'll get the iPhone by summer, if not looks like I'll be switching since my contract will be up then as well

A few corrections...

1) You cannot use an iphone with any provider that uses SIM cards. You can use an iphone with any GSM network. For example... Nextel uses SIM cards, and you cannot use an iphone with them.

2) The new software unlock for the 3G iphone will require you to have a 2.11.07 baseband or earlier. If you updated to firmware 2.2, your baseband was updated as well and you now have 2.28. Even if you downgrade firmware as posted above, this will NOT change your baseband version. Those who updated to 2.2 will not be able to use the initial release of the unlock until a way to downgrade your baseband is found.

They are "refurbs", a.k.a. phones that were returned in the trial period of ownership. I would do it but I don't really need 3G for the $10 more a month they will charge me for it. 1st Gen iPhones FTW!

i was up till 2.30am checking and checking . i just woke up at 5.54pm and see it's still not up. but if you see dev team's site, it looke like they already unlocked 2.2 firmware? there is a screenshot of 2.2 firmware and vodaphone. anyone confirm?
