N57 light hesitation

On very partial throttle i have hesitations. As soon as i give it more gas the hesitation clears and under full throttle it works perfectly. I am going to first change my fuel filter in case it is clogging.

I have a DPF delete, EGR delete, water injection, large intercooler and a custom remap. FYI

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Depends what you mean by hesitation, and at what rpm. Misfire ? Cough ? Delay and then smooth power ?

It could simply be turbo lag.

Unlikely to be a badly blocked fuel filter - lack of throughput would get worse as the fuelling increased with rpm and load.

Is the EGR fully coded-out in your remap ?

Yes EGR has been fully coded out and the vehicle has been running fine without it for around 2 years.

It's like a misfire and bucks very slightly, this is with very minimal throttle so it's not very noticeable. As soon as i put on more throttle the engine runs fine. I will check for any DTC's later.

Are you sure it's not transmission lash ? If you lift off the throttle, and then re-apply, does it feel the same as your perceived engine hesitation ?

What's the mileage on your car?
Has the gearbox had a service done on it?

Cars milage is 160k miles. There are no DTC's. It happened more noticeably yesterday i was at about 1/3 throttle and when accelerating it's like the engine "paused" for a second and then began accelerating again.

I have not done a gearbox service in the time i have owned the vehicle.

Have you checked/cleaned the Mass Airflow Sensor and the Mass Air Pressure sensors ?

I think it's unlikely to be the root of the problem but it's always eliminating the simple things first.

The car seemed to rectify itself. Thinking maybe it was bad fuel.
