Tire wear after lowering
I have in hand the MSS Urban fully adjustable coil springs. And after reading through the X5M sub forums it sounds like lowering will cause faster abnormal front tire wear. I have a M50i not a true M. I would love some real world input from people with many miles on the MSS kit. Also I have 809M, 21" front, 22" rear with no spacers.

2 different car, 2 difference alignment specs.
Tire wear is not caused by camber, tire wear caused by toes. M cars have more aggressive camber from the other. Also, driving habit such as heavy foot off the line or heavy braking, will burn your tire fast.

It depends on how much negative camber you have from lowering it. Under normal driving conditions; if you have too much negative camber, you'll prematurely wear the inner edge of the tire. An alignment is recommended in order to get everything as close to spec as possible.

I'm taking it in the morning to have the springs installed and an alignment also. I need to measure and take before and after pics. I'm thinking of doing the whole 50mm (roughly 2")drop front and rear. There is alot of gap on the 21's on the front. I'm sure some amount of rake has to be maintained.

I followed their recommendations and only went half way. The wheel gap on the front looks so much better now. And the ride is smoother, in Sport and Comfort it is great. Best way to describe it is, that it glides over the bumps and not a jarring feeling. They did an excellent job and the end price was better than quoted. I cannot wait to do some spirited driving.

Did the car feel lower from the driver's seat? The suspension on my m50i is jarring over bumpy roads. Your description of the ride difference has convinced me to go MSS. |

It's definitely a little easier to get in and out of. I'm not sure if the front is fully lowered.

I have MSS on my 21' m50i and have it as low as it'll go. this looks like you are as well. Had truck aligned and it needed minimal adjustments. Haven't noticed any abnormal wear on tires.
