Soft Paint, Needs Sealant?
My co-worker just bought an E90 on Monday and I take delivery of mine tomorrow.
She said that they told her the metallic paint on the E90 is "soft" and tried to sell her a sealant to seal the paint. Is this just me or is this BS? It would seem that there should already be a sealant on a car's paint, but I'm not an expert and would prefer not to get screwed when i go in tomorrow. Thanks!

from what i've heard, the paint is now water based, therefore softer than in the past. but i think the sealant is just the dealer trying to pad their profits. as long as the paint is strong enough to withstand the elements. besides that, i don't think any paint is chip/scratch proof. the 2 bimmers that i've purchased, my dealer has never pushed this on me. good luck!
