Finding OEM Part Numbers
Ok - I feel like I'm going crazy here. Is it really this hard to find OEM part numbers? This is my first BMW coming from Lexus, and I'm having a hell of a time trying to find OEM parts. I've tried searching here how to find part numbers and haven't seen a post like this, so....
I've got a 2021 M550, so realoem and bimmercat seem to stop at 2020, so I've had no luck there. I'm looking for a part number for my OEM cabin air filter. In this case I think the pre-LCI and LCI part numbers are the same (64116996208), but in some cases they aren't. Although even the pre-LCI filters say fitment up to 2020 M550.. All "OEM" parts websites seem to give me the accessories shop when I enter my VIN: getbmwparts for example - this seems to be the case with all other parts shops. I click replacement parts and filters And am led to a list like this.. Great! Micro filter set! But.. OK.. none of the filters in the list seem to fit the car... They seem to be all over the place. I've had this same experience on oemvehicleparts.com (Who I've used a bunch in the past for Lexus), genuinebmwminiparts.com etc.. I can't even remember how I found the part number for a broken front bumper finisher (https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=13) because it took me forever. I remember some site that was laid out similar to realoem, but it had green or yellow text and actually had the 2021 M550 parts, but I can't seem to find it again. Am I missing something simple? This is driving me insane. I'll gladly delete this if I'm being a moron and am missing something simple. |

Ditto Dallasguy…but more specifically…CALL your BMW dealership’s PARTS DEPARTMENT…or if you get the dealership’s receptionist…ask to be connected to the parts department. The service department is NOT who you want to talk to in this case.

Here is the new updated part number for cabin air filter: 64115A1BDB6
I usually go to shop.bmw.ca (I'm in Canada change it based on your location) and check the latest updates in parts. The one you have ending in 208, is the original part number. All g30s both LCIs and Pre-LCIs are the same as far as I know. Even I think new gen 6, 7 and 8 series along with x5,x6 and x7 use the same part number. LCI is not more than a face lift and hardware required for the software update (iDrive level) usually. Here is what it says: Part Number: 64115A1BDB6 Supersession(s): 64-11-5-A1B-DB6; 64116996208; 64119366401; 64119366402 |
