Hey all, I am placing my order for a 230i Msport today and struggling to choose between Thundernight Metallic and Portimao Blue. My wife says I am more of a blue color person than purple, but both look gorgeous to me. She also thinks the Thundernight color would draw more attention to the car (and me) than I might prefer. Any advice or thoughts?

If u dont mind dark color like black, u can go with thundernight, its very unique. I hate black so much that's why i much prefer Blue for myself, but thundernight still looks temp to me 😂 and because dont have any Blue instock, so my car is white 😂🤣😅

The moment I saw thundernight in person, I knew it was the right choice. Reminds me a little of Daytona Violet.

I was between the same options. I went with thunder night and have zero regrets. It's a dynamic color that looks different in any shade of light. Also, it's currently a 2 series exclusive, so what's not to like? BTW, driving at night (or dim lighting) , it will look like a black car, so no issue with attention.

DO NOT get the Thunder nignt color. Your wife will wonder every time you leave with the car...your marriage will crumble.

Really asking others for color advice is a fools errand as it is such a personal thing....you have two people to please with your color choice, you and your wife. Choose accordingly.

I struggled as well with those two choices, i did go with the blue as I'm a person that prefers to fly a bit under the radar and not a "look at me" person. Plus I thought the thunder night novelty would wear on me...just me. And i normally hate "purple" as in MOPAR purple.
Nevertheless i have had a lot of compliments (mostly from young women) on the car and its color.

Mopar purple = booooo. I never in my life thought I'd even consider a purple car, much less own one. Now look at me lol 😂

I almost got a srt8 Charger in plum crazy when I was a teen, but I couldn't really afford it at the time. I'm getting my 240 in thundernight so I can live vicariously. If a car is offered in purple, it's only offered in purple as far as I'm concerned.

With few exceptions, modern Mopar paints are terrible repros of the originals.

That said I was going to get Thundernight, then realized as I saw it in more and more (and more) reviews and videos, I would get tired of seeing it everyday.

I have Portimao on order and will for sure enjoy seeing a Thundernight whenever I may cross paths
