Is the shape of the rear spoiler the same for carbon-fiber and body color version?

I just got this new E90/91 accessories catalog....from the photo, the carbon fiber seems to be more curl up. Has anyone saw the real thing and compare?

Yes the CF does curl/stick upward/outwards more than standard OEM. The CF also has a concave cutout on the posterior edge.

Top: standard OEM
Bottom: CF

They are not exactly the same shape, as shown in your pics. The non-CF one is more subtle while the CF one is more pertruding.

Check out form real life pics of CF vs non-CF spoiler in this thread

Just wondering....can you paint the CF version to match the body color?

Technically....yes. But some would say that part of the appeal of CF items is the pattern of the CF.

Just take to a body shop...tell them the color number of your car's paint, and viola...painted spoiler of your choice.

I agree the pattern of the CF is quite appealing....

But my E90 is a TiAg....personally, I don't like too much contrast on the car.

I wonder if BMW will make the front CF lip and rear CF spoiler in regular plastic/resin? CF parts are expensive and it's a waste to paint it to body color.

If you look around....you might be able to get some replicas...much cheaper and do not feel so bad about painting them.
