My 2014 335i x-drive (Canada) has BMW Assist that’s still working although I get an SOS Malfunction Error that comes and goes if the car has sat and not been used for a few weeks. I presume the error message is the battery in TCU not holding it’s charge when the car has not be used.

I’m wondering what the future is for BMW Assist for my 2014 and if it’s worth doing service on the SOS TCU battery. If we’re going to lose the BMW Assist function soon on my 2014, it might not be worth replacing the battery. Instead might be best to code out the error code.

Does anyone know what’s happening with 2014 models and BMW Assist.
