self aiming headlights lost w/ full coilovers?

will my headlights lose its self aiming capabilities if i were to get a full coilover setup? i'm not talking about the adaptive headlight technology where it moves left and right, but im' talking about the headlights ability to adjust up and down depending on your load to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

my friend who got coilovers for his a4 said he lost this capability when put in his suspension. the reason there is a sensor that monitors the shock/spring load and adjusts the headlights accordingly. i was wondering if this is true or if any of you guys have experience with this. thanks.

i dont think it matters whether or not you have idrive, just if you have the adaptive hid headlights. after you adjusted these headlights, have you noticed the headlights having the ability to adjust itself depending on load in the car?

it only moves left/right..........

when i load up my trunk with like 200 pounds of rice....
my light shoots upward.....it does not adjust...or leveled-off

regarding i-drive: you don't have to adjust it manually

The headligt vertical aim control sensor is located in the rear axle suspension. I guess it has to be adjusted when you drop the car or it will think you are heavily loaded all the time (and hence angle the headlights down).

See realoem.com for part details: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...37&hg=33&fg=30

Since I dropped mine it still works(moves up and down when you start the car) but it doesn't seem to have the same range of motion it did before. The headlights appear to be setting correctly though.

you have to adjust the sensor in the back. not sure what your going to have to do but the car thinks there is a heavy load in the back.

I just got my coils overs *KW V.1* installed last saturday and I can tell you that the self aiming is still working without problem.

it shoots down and then back up when I start my car.

So... np here.

stiff yes

a bit too low for me too

will adjust higher after few more days and do alignment.

but with H&R sways + KW Coils, i can make harder turns and feel the wheels stickier than before.

pretty nice feel!
