Delays and more delays ordering X3M40i
Hello all,
I had placed an order for an X3M40i a couple of months ago and got allocated for a week 25 production vehicle a few months ago as well. I recently got the news that our vehicle is going to be delayed until week 29 again for parts shortages. My question is: is it possible to remove any options that may be causing a large delay such as wireless charging or Shadowline package? Also, what is the difference between required and confirmed production week? Thanks. |

I believe your production week 25 or 29 implies that is when it will/would be finished and completed.

If it's any consolation, I ordered my m40i March 1st,received allocation April 27th,and I was bumped around on my production dates. I ended up being week 24, but genius had told me on 10 June that I was going to be week 25. I took delivery last night. Bottom line, m40i production dates are flexing a bit and to answer your question about deleted items, my CA told me he was surprised I got everything on my order.

I ordered mid-March, and was told I could expect May production. Well, I'm next in line for an allocation, and "hoping" for August production, as a 2023 model. Frustrating.

I'm in a similar spot and 2nd in-line. Have you heard when Aug allocations might come out? I'm hoping this week or next.

Of course the question is if you get an August allocation is it going to be built in August? I had a March allocation for my M8, but it wasn't built until the end of May

>Exactly the same for me, ordered in March, told I could expect May/June production. Been first in line for three months, and now told I will get a '23 slot sometime, they don't know when but it will be a '23.

Anyone waiting for a M40i allocation should be on the waiting list at multiple dealers. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Just make sure the deposit is refundable and it’s not more than MSRP.

BMW genius says only one build week and not like a start or end week. Not sure which one is true. |

Quick aside: Highly recommend everyone to do that 2 hour tour if you can get to Spartanburg SC to see how these cars are being built. They only show the x3/x4 line because it can accommodate tours. x5/6/7 plants are the original and not laid out as easy for a tour group plus that is where they will build the prototypes.
