Delivery help
this is going to be my first bmw, I'm 27 yr old, my previous (that was my first car as well) car was a 03 Kia Rio ... quite a big jump, isn't it ???
I am going to take delivery of my new baby on 16th May (ordered on April 9), here is the specs : 06 325xi 6 speed manual Monaco blue / Gray / Burl Walnut Options : Premium package Nav with iDrive Logic7 Xenon Heated seats Please help me on what to expect on the delivery date ? Do I need to specifically ask for floor mats, and valve stem caps etc ? Also, what about the alarm ? should I get it frm my dealer or aftermarket ? Please help. I've already learned a lot from this forum, so thanks a bunch to all of you. Can't stop dreaming of my baby ... |

Personally, I got all of the items you mentioned installed in the car at the dealer before I took delivery. I negotiated all of them into the price.. Most dealers should at least give you the mats (mine gave me choice between summer or all weather, and I asked for summer since they're more expensive than winter, and then bought the all-weathers). Having navigation in this town pays itself off everyday (I moved here a year ago) for me, I think you'll really enjoy your car, and the options you chose.. As for the alarm system, there are a lot of threads on here (just do a search) debating whether or not the alarm system is worth it. In my opinion, if a thief wants the car and is intelligent enough they'll get it no matter what. But for the common every day idiot who thinks they could steal an e90 or something in it, its a very good deterrent. Also it will make your clown nose blink, which I think would could a lot of people to walk by the car. Another good thing is if you hold the trunk button on the key fob, the panic will go off, which could help as well if anything happened near your car. A search will pull-up a lot of pros and cons to the alarm system... Well, pros of it vs not getting it. There certainly aren't any cons to getting it installed, only a smaller wallet... Hope this helps some... Congrats on the car, post some pics when you take delivery..

Are you saying not to fit the BMW accessory valvestem caps? Why? I respect your opinion but would like to understand your reasoning. I am about to have my car delivered and was considering the Roundel valvestem caps.
