N55 Early Redline issue with E85
Anyone ever experienced anything like this? I first noticed this issue on stage 2+ E30 tune, anything past E50, and my car will LITERALLY refuse to rev past 6.5K rpm (acts like it has hit redline). Same issue with OEM LPFP and Stage 2.5 LPFP. I flashed to Multimap stage 2+ E30, and was relieved that I could run E50 again, and hit 7k rpm again with no issues. Disappointment set in again on multimap stage 2+ E30, when I noticed, anything above E65, this ugly issue rears its head again. With E65-E75, the car wont rev past 6.5Krpm. With E76 in the tank, car wont rev past 6.2K rpm.. again acts like it hits redline, revs wont climb till I shift to the next gear. This is mostly accelerating in 3rd gear, then shifting to 4th gear.
Here are some logs on E48, really tested the car, multiple 60-130 runs, can hit redline at 7k rpm with no problem. 3rd gear to Redline https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=627f...0b437b05429cd8 3rd to 4th gear pull (60-130) https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=627f...90c61fd35b54f3 https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=627f...729b30f439a976 Here with E67 in the tank.. car acts like I am hitting redline at only about 6.3K rpm.. RPM will refuse to increase after this point, till I shift to 4th gear… https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=627b...729b06174b53af Here with E75 in the tank, same issue, RPM wont increase past 6.3k rpm, like I am hitting redline early… https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=627a...0b4376591593b2 Any help is appreciated. Cannot figure this out… Logs look fantastic, no HPFP crashes... NOT SURE WHAT is going on, Hopefully someone really smart can shed some light on what i might be missing. My hardware is below: FBO, Pure stage 2, Dorch stage 2 HPFP, Eldor coilpacks, 97506 plugs at 0.022 gap. Another important note... If I run E70 gas with Stage 2H E30 map, I can hit 7K rpm redline with no issues... SMH |

I had a similar issue. It showed as a fuel issue though

Changed the lpfp to aftermarket and it stopped. When I swapped turbo and tried to run e85 the same thing would happen.

Yeah, noticed this also after swapping to Pure stage 2 turbo. running stock LPFP or stage 2.5 LPFP makes no difference. Also, looking at logs, HPFP is not crashing... so maybe this is a PTF tune issue? so what are you doing to remedy this? just run E60 or less??

I get this issue if I make a large increase in ethanol, and then do not incrementally add power so the car can adapt to the ethanol content. If I add more E, and then go WOT, the car will break apart near the top. But if I spend 20 miles slowly doing more aggressive pulls, the issue never rears its head.

I only noticed this on pure stage 2 Turbo, can't recall having this issue on the stock turbo. are you auto or 6MT? this is looking more and more than a tune issue at this point.

I looked at the logs, but i cant really see the problem happening. It looks like as soon as the issue happens, you let off the throttle. In order to try and understand what is happening by looking at the logs, you would need to continue holding WOT after the issue happens. So even though it seems like the car stops accelerating, you would stay WOT to see if its closing throttle, pulling timing, etc. If you just immediately let off the log just looks like you let off at that RPM, doesnt show anything. Of course, you should do this at your own risk because we don't know what is actually happening when you say it seems like it is hitting limiter. You should also email PTF, but like i said, just based on the logs you sent, it looks like you just let off.
