Using Voice for text messages no longer available?

I am not sure what happened, but I routinely use the MESSAGES feature to view and hear text messages in my car. I use dto be able to reply, while driving, using my voice to record teh message. I cant do it any more. There is no way to reply to a text message any more.... 2018 M5 standard, btw... Anyone else have this issue?
