Paint chips.
I bought a ex-demo 218i in mineral grey met 2 weeks ago.
I've noticed one or two small chips in the paint after normal driving. Does anyone have recommendations on what paint touch-up product to use? Cheers in advance. |

I would recommend purchasing the genuine BMW touch up paint set with both the colour and clear lacquer, if the paint chips are small I’ve found using a cocktail stick ideal for depositing just the right amount of paint / lacquer to the centre of the chip, the paint has a natural inclination to self level so it’s easy to obtain a decent enough finish bearing in mind that it’s never going to be an 100% invisible repair, But preventing any corrosion setting in is paramount to the metal body panels if the chip has broken the factory primer layer
Purchase the touch up kit either through a BMW dealer or an on line site like Amazon. Cheers

So I have a 2022 skyscraper gray metallic F44, and at 5400 miles my front bumper has a significant amount of chips. It seems like the front plastic bumper chips very easy. I have heard great things about Dr. color chip, which I believe in the UK is Chipex. They have a great kit. Definitely check out some videos on YouTube, even if you were to get the genuine touchup paint from BMW and use their kit

The paint stick works OK, but I can see where I've added it on flat surfaces.
Every time I take the car out, there's a new chip! You'd think they would colour the plastic the same as the body. I've booked for a double ceramic coat and full protection wrap. Included in the 3k cost is sorting out the chips. Despite this, I'm loving the car. |
