Strange... maybe BMW felt that the thumbrests would get in the way of the paddle shifters?

Can anyone else with paddle shifters comfirm this?

The thumbrest are only for people without the paddle and the sports package, they dont make thumb rest with paddle shifters unless you buy the mtech steeringwheel. I suggest you get the steeringwheel off of ebay. GL.

Since I already have the paddles and airbag, all I need is a stock sport wheel, right?

Then it should be an easy swap.

You would need to buy the M3 steering wheel for the MDCT.

You have to do some cutting to make the paddles fit.

That link is for cutting the M3 steering wheel but i would assume the stock sport wheel would be the same?

It doesnt look too bad. Hopefully I can score a cheap sport wheel from somebody who upgraded theirs.

My brain isnt working. Why am i still up at 5am.

Anyways, you would have to buy the M3 DCT wheel in order to get this to work. The stock sport wheel doesnt have any cutouts or mounting for the paddles. I still have my old one from the 335i I had so i checked.

correct. I don't have the thumb rests either, and this is because of the paddle shifters.

You can get the regular one for 6spd, and just cut it out yourself using an xacto knife.. the holes are already there, you jsut need to cut out a small piece to make your step paddles fit... Either that or you can get the MDTC wheel which has the stitching like the guy above said, or you can get an Mtech Paddle shifter wheel which is the perforated leather...
