Test drives
I haven't had a test drive of a BMW since before 2020, have the procedures changed at all?
I have always hated being given a 15 minute run around in a car and then asked to part with £0000s having learnt very little about how it drives under different conditions. Is it possible to get longer test drives for approved used cars? I know you used to be able to get a daily test drive of a new vehicle if you arranged it with the local dealer. |

This will vary by dealer. I havent test driven a BMW for a while, but recently drove an AMG. Was given the keys by the salesman who was relaxed enough for me to take it for a couple of hours.

When I was looking at new cars late last year, I couldn't find a single garage that would give me the keys to a car for more than 15 mins.
I was looking at a few different cars, and wanted to experience actually driving them. I was happy to buy the car at the time if the garage had what I was looking for. This was after specifically targeting garages who offered "24/48 hour" test drives too |

It varies from dealer to dealer. If you've got a good pre-existing relationship with a dealer than you're likely to get more, as they know you're likely to spend money with them
