Just curious on how widespread this issue really is.

I did but I found that it was my clogged PCV.
I know you saw my thread, but did you check your PCV to see?

Mine was running fine up until 26,000 miles, then i started experiencing weak starts (revs only hitting 5-600 instead of the nice 1500rmp). Then one day I got the reduced engine power message, but never recieved any long cranks. They replaced Injector #1 yesterday, we'll see how it goes now.

When your car misfires, what are the tell tale signs(aside from what the C-Reader says)?

Because I THINK my car misfires sometimes during idle on cold starts. It basically has very slight hiccups if you will, when idling down to 600 rpm.......Is that a sign of needing to replace spark plugs or failing HPFP?

Didn't mean to thread jack.

Thanks

Problem solved 2 days ago during service by replacing the whole six spark plugs

Interesting...so I read this thread and about 10 minutes later my mom calls me and she is having a really rough idle with CEL and limp mode. The car had been sitting for a week. After shutting the car off a few times and re-starting it, the car ran fine.

Had a rough idle and a persistent P0302 code about 15k miles ago. Fixed by replacing spark plugs.

So seems like spark plugs from BMW are bad or the gap needs to be shortened for better spark..?

Nothing is really bad about them. But yes, a smaller gap would be beneficial. None are available just yet though.

They only replaced one after inspecting them all ...I will HIGHLY recommend they do them all this next time. I just wish I could get re-chipped before the Laguna track event this monday. Ugh. Not gonna happen.
