(pics) AC Schnitzers showed up - damaged!!! Can they still be used?
So my AC Schnitzer type IV's showed up this morning via DHL, but upon opening them I found 1 was damaged (see pics). I havent taken them to the shop yet to see if its out of balance but if its not, do you think its safe to still use if the rubber covers it up?
Im waiting for DHL to process the damage claim, and if its going to be a while, Im going to just have to buy a new wheel and wait for the refund. But I'm curious what you experts see as the risks here...

The tire will not cover the damaged rim. The rims should balance fine. The only thing is you deserve to have that rim in perfect condition if they are new. Make sure they follow through and get you a new one.

ouch that does suck.... i really hope its not out of round. Honestly what i would do. Put a claim in toe DHL for the money to buy a new one. Deal with the little ding in the rim because in time they will get more dinged up. Keey the cash because you can probalby use it for something else instead. You should check if its out of round though, and only a High speed balancing machine will test that.

i would trade that rim in... i cant imagine shelling out nearly 4k for acs wheels and then not even get a change to scratch them up myself. and thats not even a scratch! thats like, a hole man! acs did a sh*tty job packing them though, thats for sure.

It doesn't matter if they take one year or ten years to get you a new set of wheels. I'd definitely wait for the new set. Do not put'em on. If you used credit card, I'd take advice from ZuerstBMW if things go wrong with the seller, and one thing you need to watch out, if you used Check Card/Check Book or if you used Paypal account that the primary payment option is set as your Checking/Savings account, Bank will only reverse the charge within 30 days. Good Luck.
