Just created a new intake possibility for the M50i platform

Hey guys,

So some of you may have known that I had retrofitted the x5m competition upper strut bar assembly. Well now I did something else.

This is the Dinan F95 X5m Carbon Fibre Intake. It's a little pricey but not much more than other intakes for the N63 motors on other platforms.

It was pretty straight forward. The only things I needed to do were to cut some excess plastic on the inside of the bottom half of the stock airboxes to accomodate the large filter, and order a smaller rubber bellow that goes from the carbon fibre half of the airbox to the turbo inlet.

All in all, it made a very noticeable difference in throttle response and acceleration and definitely you can hear the turbos more. I just need to remove the active grille shutters now as the intake adds a third inlet right behind the grille to force feed this beast!

I was hoping this would work. I talked to the Dinan rep and he told me the engineers didn't think it would. I'm doing the Cross Brace upgrade now on mine from your other post. Just got the new pieces from the air box to the front and oil filler tube planning on installing them tomorrow. still searching for the part number of the brace. The BMW dealer parts guy was clueless on what I wanted and how to search for it. I guess for him if it doesn't just pop up on the screen it is to difficult.

Ya that's usually the case. Lol I don't know why they think it wouldn't work. Everything lines up lol.

As for the brace there is no part number. I was lucky a buddy of mine works there and was able to source one through his head office

Its about $2100 USD, gains are very noticeable however I haven't measured anything.

I got it from a local Dinan Dealer. You can find your local dealer on the Dinan website. It should. My vehicle is a 2020 built 10/19

It might. I don't know if they changed the lower part of the airbox or the turbo inlet pipes though. If they haven't then yes

Can you provide the link to the rubber bellows you purchased? Actually, if you don't mind can you also provide the part numbers to the parts needed to retrofit the strut bar assembly? I appreciate your help.
