Oh fucking hell. That's terrible. I kinda doubt it was drugs. The guys in the band definitely enjoy their drinks but I do t think they are doing a bunch of drugs. They are all 50-something dads, married, with multiple kids. Could be wrong. Just my impression after reading a couple of Daves books.

I've got tickets to see them in September.

You never really know what's going on behind closed doors though. He's had a history with drug addiction. It's all speculation at this point, but it does have all of the hallmarks of an OD. I just read on the Daily Mail that he was found dead in his hotel room and had been complaining of chest pain earlier in the day. Who knows how accurate that information is.

RIP. I don't see how the Foo Fighters continue after this.

So sad. - for his family and friends. Shocking for all of us. To lose a bandmate on tour - ... that is surreal.

He was super close to Grohl so I can only imagine how Dave must be feeling about now.

I know how this might sound but knowing Dave, I can't help but have images of that young girl Nandi Bushell playing a set or two in honor of Hawkins.

I read the early reports last night and one said the he was found dead in his hotel room. It is shocking, he seemed like the second nicest person in Rock and Roll after Dave himself. He was a talented drummer and his vocals especially on the Led Zeppelin covers were memorable. He will be missed by us Foo Fighter fans.
