What am I doing wrong?

I get in the car and turn the engine on. I turn the iDrive knob clockwise 5 times and wait 5 seconds and turn it counter clockwise 7 times and wait 7 seconds after that. I drive at a consistent speed of 88mph. Nothing happens! I really need help fast. There's something important that I really need to take care of right away. My existence depends on it.

I tried the same thing yesterday but then realized all that did was open all my windows, doors, trunk and hood.

88 mph? Are you trying to go back to 1953 in your BMW? This isn't a DeLorean.

It's a known issue. The current ECU software version can not generate the full 1.21 JW needed. I'm hoping for a fix soon.

You should report this to the dealer asap. There may be a TSB through the USB.

No. You have to push it to 888mph. Try it and see what happens.

are you using an after market flux capacitor?
if so this may void your warranty.
