Coding in a new Comfort Access Key
Hi, my son lost one of the comfort access keys to his 2013 BMW X1. While the story in how he lost it was interesting, we're down to one key. For some reason, I remember seeing that his car had 3 programmed keys, but we only received 2 when we bought it. Anyway, the locksmith wants $300 to replace his key, including the laser cut. That said, this means there is a way to do this without going to BMW. I can buy an aftermarket key fob and attempt to program it myself, provided I have the right tools. Personally, I don't care to have it laser cut, as I don't think we have used the metal blade in any of our cars except for my old 911. Is there a way to do this myself using the suite of BMW software I have put together on my laptop?
