HELP GUYS! I just got pull over tonight!!!
I was going out to dinner with my friend. I was trying to make a U-turn of a 4 way stop sign, until i saw the cop car. I signaled left at first, then I signaled right when I saw them. The cops followed me for 4 block and pulled my over when i parked on a parking spot. Four cops actually came out of the car~LOL, and it was a busy street too. Everyone was looking at me like I was a criminal or something. He took my driver license ad wrote me a fix ticket for my 35% tinted front windows and no insurance proof with me. He actually said," It is a nice car and I know you want to make it no nice. However we need to be able to see you, get a lighter tint."
Now, I got to take them off and get the fix ticket fix.....I just got a fix ticket for no front license plate a month ago... |

all you could do is that unless you can pay the fine for the tint and not get it fixed. im not sure how much it is.

if you have to take it off take the front off and redo them. and try to have your windows down. also if you live in cali ANY tint in the front is illegal so it wouldnt matter if you went lighter well that depeds where you live.

Damn, that sucks! Usually city cops don't really pay too much attention to 35% since the driver is still visible to them. SF cops have better things to do then sit around like Daly City cops...
In this case I would just pay the fine...35% IMO is legitimate and I'm pretty sure you want to keep your tint at 35 right? No point of shelling out extra money to get the tint removed then re-tinted later on.

I either take it all off..or do a light tint later...and probabaly wont just undo the tint on the front. It's weird and ugly.... |

That sucks, down here 35% is legal on the fronts but everyone is running 15-20% I have 20% on mine and never have a problem. I think the cops all run 15% on their cars, move to S. Fl

Let's see... You almost made an illegal U turn on a busy street. The only reason you didn't was because you saw the cops. Here's a clue... it's still illegal even if no one sees you do it. Your tint is darker than allowed by law in your area. You already got a ticket for no front plate. You drive around with no insurance information. Did I miss anything?
And you wonder why they pulled you over and gave you a hard time??? You feel somehow that you are being treated unfairly??? Sounds to me like you should consider being more conscientious about the law. I have no problem if you choose not to follow the rules. That is your choice. But there are consequences when you do that. Coming on a forum and crying like you are some kind of poor innocent victim is ridiculous! Grow up man. Either play by the rules or accept the consequences if you don't. Just don't look for sympathy. |

My friend has 5% tints on his Mustang. He got a fixable ticket for them. He's friends with a cop so he had him sign the ticket and left his tints on. |

Don't change it at all. Just pay the fine.
