Anybody else irked about the steering wheel height adjustment?

For some reason, the little plastic lever on the left hand side of the steering column requires considerable persuasion to unlock and relock after moving the steering wheel to a comfortable driving position. In some cases, I feel like I'm going to snap the plastic lever right off! In other cases, it seems really hard to get it to re-lock after lowering the wheel...you have to search a bit for the "sweet spot" to make it re-lock.

Anyone else have this problem?

John, no, I don't have this problem. It sounds like something may be amiss, maybe have your dealer look at it(?)

I agree. It's not easy to use.

Just use some force. I moved my steering wheel the day I got the car - and haven't since then!

I wish it was power like it is in the X5's and other cars. I miss the feature of the wheel going up and down automatically whenever I get in and out.

I don't really have an issue moving it. It's not like the level just snaps into place as I do need to exert a little pressure on it, but nothing all that significant.

I really wish it had a telescoping feature to it. To be honest, I was surprised when I found out it didn't.

I agree that there appear to be several 'sweet spots' upon which the locking lever slides gently into place. If you are not on one of the sweet spots, it requires considerably more force to lock the lever down.

Not independent of the tilt. Now I have a basic 325xi(no sport or power anything), so maybe that's why.

***EDIT***
I see that it's listed as standard. Perhaps I'm totally missing it. Is it any independent adjustment, from the tilt?

When you unlock the wheel with that lever it should tilt and telescope together.
