We didnt see anything in Feb and those allocations were pushed to first week of March.

Not sure if the next batch of allocations will be by early or late April but its going to be a while until we see anything.

Yeah, I'm wondering if these March allocations were actually February allocations and how the schedule will look for the next round of allocations.

I asked my CA today and he seems to think there will be allocations the last week of March/first week of April.

But who knows with the way this are going right now

The allocations that were released were delayed from February, they are technically allocations for April production. The next round will be for May production (they should release the penultimate week of March...but who knows).

Good to know! Let's see how things play out in the next couple of weeks.

I am looking for a Comp XDrive allocation. Please PM me if anyone has any leads. I am flexible and would take a car that is already in route.

I am up next at my dealer so I hope I get in the next batch. I really do not want to go into the 2023 pool of builds.

I got my allocation last week, but it was for week 21 (mid-May), so it looks like they're spreading the allocations out?

Wait, you put down a deposit a year ago at #1, and you haven't budged since then? Is this at a real BMW dealership? Something's not right.

Yep I've been waiting this whole time in the #1 spot. I know it hasn't been available to purchase that long, but I reserved the spot early hoping I would have something by now. I've called around to other BMW dealers, but they already had long waitlists by the time I felt like I needed to look elsewhere.

Yeah #1 the whole time at BMW of Okemos Michigan. They've only had one RWD G80 allocation since I came to look at the showroom car a year ago.

Haha thanks I guess. Can't lie I've been looking at other cars since it's been so long, but this late into the game most the new performance cars I've been looking at are in a similar waiting list. I think what sucks the most is seeing interest and pricing gradually rise month after month. At this rate I'm going to see an LCI before I get into my own vehicle.

Some of these small dealerships have been short-changed. I can't believe you've been sitting so patiently.

Please give BMW of Ann Arbor a call. Even if they have a list, they go through a lot more volume and get a lot more allocations than small dealers. Best bet in general is to hedge and get on 2-3 lists.

Sidebar
In February, I spent a few hours across two days contacting dozens of dealerships around the Mid Atlantic, Midwest, and South. I came up with a simple and rough metric for gauging a dealership's sales volume by looking at the number of Google reviews for that dealership. For example:

BMW of Catonsville (MD, just outside Baltimore): 1664
BMW of Sterling (VA, just outside DC): 2464
BMW of Greensboro (NC, where I ended up getting my allocation): 868
BMW of York (PA, the smallest dealership I found...until today): 215
...
BMW of Ann Arbor: 1232
BMW of Okemos: 103

In dec / jan timeframe, I spoke to almost all dealers in MI. Finally, I was able to secure an allocation from a dealer in a nearby state. Right after that, another dealer reached out to me as they received an allocation as well. PM me if you need contact info of those dealers, they have received some allocations in the recent months.

Yeah, they haven't gotten a single allocation in a full year!?! That is absolutely crazy… What possible stories could they have spun to string you along for a full year? I feel like you either have some incredible sense of loyalty to this dealership or you don't actually want this car. I wasn't able to go a week without a production number before calling every dealership in the state and a few out of it and putting myself on multiple lists. Lol

For what it's worth, I'm sorry you are still without a car after being so incredibly patient. Good luck on it and hope your allocation comes soon!

Been hearing stuff that the dealer I placed my order with at MSRP has been telling customers $25k over once the car arrives without any heads up.. Fucked up. So I called around and put my name on another list being 4th in line for $2k over MSRP at Century BMW

Wow that's super shady. For me I've got email communication from them confirming that they will sell at MSRP (albeit with inflated mf/apr). So there SHOULDN'T be any surprises.
