Intermittent Limp Mode
I'm on a road trip. Last night I got the yellow engine and reduced power warning (limp mode). It was around midnight and I was in SW Virginia, 2 1/2 hours from the nearest dealership. The car seemed to be running normally and the warning would go away and come back. This morning, no limp mode warning I spoke with my friend the urologist and he suggested a couple of viagra in the gas tank might help, as this has been his remedy for limp mode for a few years now. I spoke with the SA at the dealer which was a waste of 5 minutes. I did ask about the HPFP in the '08's. He thinks that this is not a problem with the '08's LOL. Anybody else had intermitent limp mode?
ps. It was 20 deg. F last night out here

I just experienced that this morning myself, I am taking my car in today. I am not too sure what it is, since I did not have any long cranks prior to this happening. The reduced engine light is off but I still have the "service engine soon" light still on

limp mode
I have been having this problem for several weeks and finally got my car into the dealership yesterday. I was expecting them to tell me it was the fuel pump, but it turns out to be a VANOS-related problem that will require pulling the head cover off and doing some repairs to one of the camshaft assemblies.
Dealership had to order the parts so I don't know this will all turn out, but wanted to pass along the information. I will post a full review once the repairs are complete. PS. I have an SSTT but took it off before going to the dealership. They didn't mention anything about it so I assume it doesn't leave any traces. PPS. The dealership also updated my software to, I assume, 29.2. I definitely notice the lag problem so many have posted about. |

No tune. No long cranks. I still have a 550 mile drive home Saturday night.
