"Amazing noise" is subjective. I call it "fake and obnoxious".
You can turn it on/off with a tune. On my BM3 tune, I've turned it off so if it happens, it's legit, not artificially generated. Does the car have a tune on it? |

I know what you are saying though. Our Audi SQ5 does the burp noise on hard throttle upshifts. |

The upshifts burps will be much more noticeable with a downpipe, either high flow or catless. If you say it's a family car I would go for a high flow downpipe and a bm3 Stage 1 tune with the burbles and cold start disabled. Gives the car a nice tone without being obnoxious and the downshifts won't have those crazy burbles and pops.

I think op is talking about upshift fart and not downshift burbles.
upshift farts are due to very quick shift under high load, where fuel is sent unburnt thru the exhaust valves, then in the exhaust, where due to heat, generating a kind of fart. So you should have it, under wot. Some technical explanations : cheers ! |

I get an 'almost DSG' fart on my M240i w/ a 200 CPSI DP and the OE exhaust and soft, short burbles in MHD. I think it sounds great.

I don't think that behaviour changes with an OTS tune, maybe xHP has some influence?
