Clearing Notifications in I Drive 6
Yesterday I had a message in Notifications & in the instrument display telling me to change the battery in the key fob. I haven't had time to get to Halfords so have swapped the battery from the spare fob for the time being. Unlocked the car this morning & drove off: I was expecting the system to have recognised the fob battery was OK & cancelled the message but the message to change battery is still displayed in Notifications & instrument display. I assume I have to delete the message manually but cant find anything in the Notification screen or handbook as to how to do so. Any pointers?

Try holding your key fob so its touching the key icon marked on the steering column and starting the car with it held there might clear it.

I had the same issue when I changed the battery in my fob last month and tried what marshyrob wrote above and the issue cleared itself after changing the battery in the fob twice - the car didn't like the cheap battery from Amazon but was OK with the Duracell battery. I think the car was being a battery snob.

Thank you both for replying. Managed to get a new battery from Timpsons of all places: Halfords out of stock of the correct size & nothing in the major supermarkets. New battery made by Renata in Switzerland so no cheep Chinese crap. Installed new battery in fob fired up the car & the messages have gone. I assume the battery in the replacement fob was on its way out as well hence the same message. Strange as the car was only bought exactly 2 years ago as a pre registered 10/19 car from BMW and have done less than 5k in 2 years.
