It will be a marmite car just like the Cayenne. Porsche will sell thousands so will not care that people who couldn't or wouldn't buy it slag it off for being ugly. (read majority of people who blast the Cayenne for being ugly could never afford one)

As for me I can't afford one but as I like most things Porsche its OK by me. Its been in planning for nearly 10 years

You mean it comes in black and looks like shit?

ETA: That side profile doesn't do it any justice, but I have to say i quite like it. They seem to have no resolved it completely, like they're stuck with constraints on floorplan/running gear and had to make it 'fit'. Even so, think it will look good in the flesh.

Different, looks like a Porsche from the front end still - but an engine up front! Seems others are doing similar ie. AM Rapide.

Hmmm 50k new, so if it goes like the Cayenne, could see some 2/3 year old ones for under 20k in the future!

It further dilutes the brand IMHO.

Also, others marques have done a better job with creating a 4-door coupe.

Would like to see one in the flesh before making judgement.

One thing for sure if it's half the car handling wise of the '44 it will be awesome

I've only ever seen pics of the 4S, wonder what variations they'll be doing. Do you think we'll see a (don't hit me Porscha) Diesel from the new Cayenne to keep up with competition?

From that picture it's revolting. Lets take an estate and tack a porsche nose and porshe arse on it (not you Porsha).

Dogs dinner but it has the badge so people will buy it.

I think Porscha may already know, like me, the answer to that one trixman.

I'm being a good Porscha from now on

Diesel - not sure can't see it for the Panamera but you don't know what market research will demand, maybe, maybe not. I hope not personally but if it will help them to sell, go for it Porsche, more sales = more development for Porsche.

I would love to see a new 944, could even be converted to new cars for that. More I think about it this one is more return of the '28, it will no doubt be a fantastic car.

I'm not a Cayenne fan but will not deny it is a class leading 4X4, they actually drive really well for what they are

May be missing something there... (I was wondering whether they'll fit the diesel from the Cayenne into the Panamera, can't see confirmation on that page?)

Yep already knew about the Cayenne diesel!

It's been in speculation for ages too, so kind of almost glad they've got on with it

With you now lol - it's me age you know.

Educated guess - yes they will. As Porscha said, market forces may well demand it.

Yea they do, I had the misfortune of owing a RRS supercharged and a friend had the Cayenne Turbo... annihilated doesn't come close to describing the event...

Can't help but think it would destroy the brand by having the diesel in one of their sports cars. I don't think anyone could catagorise the Cayenne as
part of their 'sports' range, regardless of it's abilities.

Can imagine a hybrid petrol being a safer bet...

HYBRID - diesel is one thing but don't you dre say that dirty word in front of me

My mums just bought a Discovery 3 (and a bloody Diesel at that think thats all the Discovery come in now) I told her to buy a Cayenne for the cash and carry car but Disco apprantely does cash and carry run better

Yes exactly Cayenne isn't a sports car so the diesel isn't as much of an issue. I think the Panamera is being aimed at the large cruiser market anyway, so we could well see a Diesel.

I had a Cayenne S as a loan car earlier this year and tbh although I've only driven a handful of 4x4's namely Disco, XC90 and X5, the Cayenne was a surprise! Despite it's capable velocity, it was the handling of something with the aerodynamics of a brick, that was impressive. Not my cup of tea though, and no, I wouldn't class it as part of their sports car range either.

Yes from Leeds OPC, much preferred the C4S lol. What I noticed was being flashed at and horns blowing when I overtook someone - must have been the 'back draft' as I passed them.

Looks shite, just shows ya porsche is just another normal car brand. Lost all its premiumness and prestige.

Would rather a lemsip on toast.
