E90 Check Engine Light

Hey!
I own a 325i E90 2005. I have been having a problem with it since last 2 months. When the temperatures goes down and the car is cold comes the “engine check” light 1minute after I start it! The display shows something like “High engine loads might damage catalytic converter”. That is like the first 5 min when I’m driving and disappears after that. When I stop and start the car again the it is gone! I noticed when it is already warm it’s all right. In the summer I had some problems with power and we removed the cat, also in software..Also we replaced the head gasket and more. Someone who dealt with this problem? Because we diagnosed it many times but it comes nothing special. Also, I changed the spark plugs but nothing..

Hmm, thats interesting. I am not totally sure what the issue is, however, I would recommend using an OBD scanner to see what the exact issue is. Then you could narrow down the problem to a likely cause.

I did that. There is nothing concrete and related to the problem.. I am thinking it may be something to do with the oxygen sensors but I dont know.

This might seem off topic, but do you have any issues with cooling? I had a failed thermostat causing a check engine light especially on cold days. When I scanned it with an OBD tool, it showed an equally vague code. Nothing specific to the thermostat. Replacing the thermostat resolved my issues
