M Technology Package - What is it, and who is getting it?

I was thinking about adding this to my build if its worth it. All BMW website says is increased capacity to the drivetrain and brake cooling systems.

Anyone know the specifics?

Thanks!

Its just better tires which you can get later, a cooling fan and oil cooler you probably will never need unless you hard core track it.

If you are still keen on getting the 245 Front and 255 Rear, it looks like you could still option them on the 792 wheel with performance non RFT for no charge (great deal I think) and potentially save $2400 unless you need the 893M wheel and the additional cooling like mentioned above by other members

In Europe it contains better engine cooling, bigger front discs and calipers, bigger front tyres and exclusive alloy wheels with extra lips.

Aren't the alloys part of the pro pack

I wonder if they had already engineered those for the wider wheels coming for the M2?

Lol good point. I’m curious if they’ll put the fender lips on the 792 with performance non RFT’s also since they get the same wheel/tire size as 893M.

I decided to order today with the 797 so I will know sometime in March hopefully when my car comes in.

There's some confusion, the extended lips only come with the largest wheels (893m with 245/255 tyres), it's purely a matter of aesthetics to accommodate wider wheels (8.5"/9.5") with deeper offsets and prevent the wheels from coming out of the wheel arches.
With all other wheels there will be no extra lips since they are all 8"/8.5" with 225/255 tyres.

That is what I thought as well but going through the North America Order guide, you can get 245/255 with the 792 when you option Performance non RFT similar to the 893M style wheel. So I assumed you might be getting the lip with this option.

Oh! Probably a mistake, here is the car with the 792.

Same rims already seen on the M340.

I called my CA yesterday to confirm the very information and he seemed to confirm the order guide was right but to your point, I still have my suspicions on if that is true information.

The one thing I will say though is the images and the video you posted show the 792M with 225 wide all season Pirellis on it.

Ill try calling the BMW genius hotline and see if they can confirm the right size on the Performance non RFT's.

You are right that it is 225/255 for the performance non RFT's or the performance RFT's with either the 797M or the 791M wheels for the G42.

I called BMW Genius this morning again just to confirm the setup on the 792 wheel with the performance non RFT since the order guide shows 245/255 same as if you order the ZTK with the 893M wheels. The lady I spoke to confirmed that is indeed 245/255 and if you order the performance RFT's on 792M then you get 225/255.

I personally am still not convinced that its true but I am going to go ahead and order it that way hoping the order guide is infact true.

I see you have the option on the US website to order the 792 wheel with the performance non RFT 245/255 size.

Unfortunately it’s not the same on the Canadian website.

You can only order the performance RFT or all season RFT with the 792 wheel.

So it’s looks like the best we get in Canada in the 225/255 setup unless you order the ZTK package with the 893M wheels (in Canada called the “M Sport Pro Package”).

I’m not really a fan of the 893M wheels so will probably stick with the 225/255 and the 791 or 792 wheels.

That's unfortunate. I agree with you and also prefer the 792 and 791 in that order over the 893M personally.

I chose to go with Thundernight metallic and hence spec'd it with 792 since it matches with the cerium gray on the mirrors and the grill. I would've gone with 791 if I would've chosen Brooklyn Grey which was my 2nd option.

Does anyone know what the offsets are on the 8.5" and 9.5" 893M wheels?

Does anyone know what the offset is for the 893M versus the 792 wheel? Both are listed as the same size at 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. With the same size tire at 245/255x19. And my eyes are old, but the 'lips' don't appear to provide any additional width to accommodate any additional offset attributed to the 893M with the ZTK package, so seems just an appearance thing.
