Black grille from IND is here!

Saw IND post the other day about having the new black grille and I emailed immediately. Gave payment and a few days later it was on my doorstep (literally a few days after I dipped mine):

It was ~$200 plus tax/shipping. Really easy to replace- a few clips a slight tug (not too hard bc the camera is still attached), unclip the camera and then put it back together with the new one.

How is the difference compared to the dipped one? I am thinking to dip it, as I don't want the hassle of keeping additional grill with me. Can you post some details on how to dip it?

Do you have a link to the correct part on their website? I can't get to the LCI version.

Removed the grille and surround, used plasti dip luxury metal (5 coats) and glossifier (4 coats) and reattached.

There is no link- I emailed them and they confirmed for LCI with park assist. Felt scary but I also have purchased from IND multiple times with only great results. Paid the up-charge of ~$80 to know I would get it.

Yesssss. Same with me. Feels like a back alley transaction.

Dylan from IND messaged me back and said: I have it in stock.

Abs asked several times: ARE YOU SURE YOU DON'T HAVE THE CAMERA? haha.

Anyways, also bit the bullet. Because the stores that have it for 160 instead of 237 (full price) don't have it in stock. And there are currently 0 of those out there. I don't get how IND got theirs first. But they did say they were extremely limited in stock.

Do they also have glossy black instead of matte black?

You mean in terms of plasti dip? Not sure if they have a glossier version but more glossifier probably would have helped. There is another thread on here where the OP used glossy vinyl spray and it looked much glossier. Now that the replacement grills are available, no reason to really dip imho.

Your pic of the grille looks glossier before installation. Is it the same piece?

Right, so I had dipped the original, which is the matte looking pictures on the car. The glossier one is what I just received from IND- it is the OEM grille.

I do not but it was really simple. It'll take you a few minutes at most- spent more time wiping my fingerprints off after

IND sells it in matte or glossy finish. At least for the F97 one. This leads me to believe they are doing the same with the M40i one.

How many aerosol cans did it take to black out the grill completely?

Finally! I made it after months of waiting. What a change! Love it.

Changing this was so easy that I'll slap anyone who pays for this. Literally 25 seconds of work to get to the clips.

Literally 25 seconds of work. There are about 5 clips. Easiest BMW grille I've ever changed
