In the US:
For 30i the park distance sensors front and rear and rear view camera are standard. For M40i the park distance sensors front and rear and rear view camera are standard but as at an optional $700 you can add 360° cameras and automatic parking aid. |

Never experienced the "parking aid" performance,
outside of the sensors in the bumpers... But there are two pieces that are = = game changers = = for me... the 360 view and the HUD - - by far the most used features outside of regular operation (and gps). |

I have to say that I use the 360 view all the time. I specifically declined a Jag e-Pace because they dropped it from my package. I park out of the way and as close to the curb as possible to prevent dings. The 360 view helps me judge this. Driving my wife's Volvo enforced how much I use it now. Of course, up until a month ago, I survived just fine without the 360 view.
While I use the HUD all time, I actually rely more on the other displays. The HUD has such limited data compared to the other displays, that I find I look at those instead. The speed limit is easier to read in the HUD. The rest of the data is just ok. The park assist, I would not pay extra for it. It is neat to let the system do the parking for you (or backing out), but it takes some getting used to. |
