Kelly Blue Book Cash Offer

So I'm bored, got an instant offer from Kelly Blue Book via closest BMW dealer for a 2020 40i with Mpackage with 9k miles: $73,691

Wondering, how much higher I can get if I walk into the dealer?

Probably even more if your X7 is well equipped. But this crazy COVID induced car market is a double edged sword…. If your current X7 has an active function in your family now (i.e.not a weekend toy) what would you replace the X7 with that would allow you to enjoy the great price you got for selling your probably very well equipped X7?

Sell high buy high. Nature of the market right now. Good point above…… deletion of option packages as well as limited discounts on built vehicles is not good. Forget about the used market total rip off right now.

It works for some…..not sure it makes sense in this case. But on a crazy note, my daughter just traded her 4 yr old Nissan Rogue for the price she purchased and bought a brand new Rogue for sticker minus a small incentive (i think it was one of those loyalty rebates). She was thrilled with getting an upgraded car for her… and saved herself having to negotiate….which IMO is worth its weight in gold.

I sold the X7 and went to Jeep. That was an option because it saves me some money which I can re-invest once the market recovered.

Obtaining different offers from as many dealers as possible will get you some extra cash if you want to sell. I have to agree though that I would not have done this if I wanted to replace my X7 with another one.

Good advice..One daughter just graduated from college, other just left for UCLS. Don't really need the X7. Perhaps his/hers X3. Just thinking of options. I guess no matter what I exchange it for, it will be for a loss.

How do you like the Jeep in comparison to the x7?

I assume the car is not leased. BMWFS closed the loophole of selling to carvanna etc. October 1st. you can buy it or a BMW dealer can buy it no one else without the you buy it first step. Now if you own the car, you can do whatever you want but as mentioned the replacement vehicle is the problem

Good luck

Honestly, I enjoy it more every day.

Of course, you can't really compare these vehicles performance-wise but for the money, the Jeep has A LOT to offer. The McIntosh sound system is great (since you can no longer get the B&W on the X7, it's fair to say that it outperforms any system you can currently get on the X7). Alexa integration is great because it uses the vehicle's HotSpot instead of your phone. It also comes with Night Vision standard on the Summit Reserve trim as well as heated AND ventilated second row seats. The digital rear view mirror and interior camera are nice gadgets, too. Interior fit & finish is top notch. You would actually have to go full leather on the BMW to get as much covered with stitching as on the Jeep. The Jeep is an inch longer than the X7 and the trunk with the 3rd row folded appears to be bigger.

But what really makes this a great package is the sticker of $66K - more than $55K(!!) less than the X7. Without a doubt, the BMW is the better vehicle - but not even remotely $55K better.

What is the performance like? Is it comparable or not even close?

Pentastar comparable to the TT V8? It’s not in the same area code, country …or planet. Suspension wise you can say the same. For the price it is what it is but it’s not a top tier BMW. This coming from a current and past Jeep owner. Jeeps have been part of my family for 25 yrs but it’s not comparable to a $100k BMW.

Even the 5.7 Hemi is not comparable to the TTV8.

As BYEIL said, the Pentastar is not even close. 290 compared to 523 HP tells the whole story - LOL. In my case, I was mostly commuting and ran out of opportunities to put the 523 horses to work so in the meantime, I will enjoy the 21 MPGs and the fact that it runs on 87/regular fuel.

The powertrain I'm eyeballing on the (next potential) Jeep is the plug-in hybrid (4xe). That one has 375 HP and 470 lb-ft with a decent fuel economy even if you don't use the plug-in feature.

So for clarification, if the vehicle is leased they BMWFS you can no longer trade the vehicle, unless it is to a BMW dealer?

That’s correct. Has to be BMW dealership or you could pay it off and do whatever.

Mercedes did this effective 9/1. Glad I dumped our GLE580 in July. Thanks for the heads up!

That limit the flexibility of lease
If I payoff the lease with cash and sell immediately to a third party dealership, any way to avoid sales tax on payoff amount?

depends on your state, in NY nope they collect tax every time. Check your local sales tax laws regarding purchase for resale. I have heard there is a 10 day grace period in CA but again check your local laws. I am not a sales tax expert in any state
