AC in auto mode
Regarding AC in auto mode, can you tell me how it is supposed to work in terms of controlling fan speed?
On most of my previous vehicles, if I place the AC in auto mode, the fan speed automatically adjusts the airflow in the vents to maintain the desired temperature if needed. I noticed in the X7, although I place the AC auto mode, the fan speed stays constant and doesn't adjust. Am I missing something? |

My experience has been that when in auto, fan speed will vary based on the delta between set temperature and actual temperature inside the X7. That said, sometimes it seems like the "delta" necessary for the fan to increase speed automatically is higher than you would think, and sometimes I end up manually adjusting the fan speed if I want to cool off quicker.

There are 5 levels of intensity of the fan speed in auto mode. I leave mine on level 2 most of time or level 3 if its really hot out. Advantage to this system is that you don't have fans screaming at you every time you start the car. If it's really hot then I hit max ac for a short time and then back to auto.

What I've noticed is that if you have it on auto, then the fan speed you set is the maximum it will use. I definitely have noticed the system reduce the amount of air it blows over time, but it won't show on the display.
Also, I think the first two rows share the same AC and blower system, so as long as one zone needs higher airflow, you near the same "noise" from the dash but the amount of air goes down, hence it may still sound like the fans are on high. |

farther from the temp, harder it blows. closer it gets, slower it ramps to the temperature so it doesn't fly right by it
and then there's "low", which is where it belongs /lives where it's stupid hot outside
