Question about tolls!! So pissed

Ok so this summer Parker and I split. So I had to leave and drive across country home. I didnt have any cash on me and had to go through 3 toll roads and not pay. The ladys all instructed me to call and pay over the phone within 48 hours. The tolls were $2 a piece. Total payment of $6 was put on my credit card over the phone.

Today Parker informs me that I had mail from the state of Colorado. I went over, got my mail and I have three fines. $81 bucks each for "non payment"

WTF?! I have the reference numbers from my credit card saying I paid the toll on July 7th 2008. I tried calling but no good.

Any advice on what I should do?

i ran a toll once...it cost me 100 bucks to get from point a to point b.. 50 bucks for the ticket and 50 bucks for gas...good luck on yours!

Got on a Easy pass lane once by mistake.
Too late to switch lanes.
a few weeks later, I get a ticket for about $30

Now they say they changed their systems so they have no way to look back to see if I paid. I have to fax my credit card statement to them now... argh..

And how many people did they just send bills to that would have just paid it without fighting ?? Sounds like you'll get the fine erased, though.

Always carry cash.

I don't care if you have an ATM card. Always have at least $20 on you. My friends never do and we're always wasting time running by an ATM machine so they can get cash at the last minute. And it's not like the ATM is right there, no, it's way the hell outta the way.
