Pictures as promised, Im no photographer!

I changed the front Grille and have changed the badges. I have more equipment to add, going to change the mirror caps to carbon fibre look, and the shark fin on the roof. Really considering going a spoiler. Also have a RaceChip to install, but I will run the car in for a well.

I love the head up display, and the colour is awesome

Would really appreciate some remarks and insights on the RaceChip when you install it. There is no serious info on 218i gc tuning on the web...

Nice, how hard was it to install the grill? Did you remove the bumper?

BMW removed it for me - free of charge, as partly in lieu of discount of the price of the car.

Is the RaceChip specifically tailored for your 2021 model?

I am asking because the 218i GC of 2020 has slightly different performance than the 2021 model (i.e. the 2020 is half a second quicker in 0-100 kph due to the fact that it outputs 140hp vs 136hp of the 2021 model). Did the RaceChip dealer take that fact into account when you bought it?

PS Just checked the RaceChip web site and the only option for the 218i GC is the 140hp, i.e. the 2020 model. You may wish to double check that it is suitable for your 2021 model.

Your absolutely correct about the 140 v 136 hp. The installation guide is just 218i F44.

I have emailed RaceChip customer support for further clarification on this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Yes M package Grille I believe, only a £130. Changes the whole look of the car.

Hi Infovi, thank you again for bringing this to my attention, I emailed RaceChip and have just received a reply.

“Unfortunately we do not offer any chiptuning yet for the 2021 218i gran coupe (F44) 136BHP engine. However, we are constantly expanding our model range and will gladly inform you by e-mail as soon as a RaceChip is available for your 218i 136 BHP.

The development process can in sum take a few months before a RaceChip is released to assure you maximum performance and a safe drive. We appreciate your understanding since we cannot provide an estimated release date.”

Thankfully I haven’t installed it yet, and have offered a refund. Which is brilliant customer service. Looks like I will have to wait on the new RaceChip or look elsewhere.

What numbers would you expect to get for the 2020 model with that race chip?

I believe it will be a higher torque figure that reduces the 0-62mph, not power..

According to RaceChip for the 2020 model 218i (140bhp ) you would get +46hp & +80Nm.

I'm wanting to change the badges on mine as well…was it difficult? It seems they're attached differently than most bmw models?
