HK option completely gone? I don't see that in the design packages anymore.

HK comes standard in M50i only with option to upgrade to B&W. all other variants have HiFi with no option to upgrade (although a dealer hooked up one dude in the FB group and got B&W on his US MY22 45e)

Seems like it. Standard audio still appears to be the HiFi sound system.

They added the 3rd row back with air suspension. They also added a "climate comfort package" which is basically heated seats front and rear and heated Arm rests.

Albeit temporary until the supply chain issues goes away, the question honestly becomes why buy a BMW? Or any German luxury brand as MB and Audi seems equally affected? Driving dynamics, chassis, handling can only take you so far and truth be told, the majority of the consumers in this segment aren't looking for the fastest 0-60 time or the best handling. They want a quiet, luxury car with those options/standard equipment that makes a BMW a BMW. The minority enthusiasts crawling around on these forums are exactly that, the minority.

At this point, people would be better off going for an Acura/Lexus or even a mainstream product saving some money along the way as those will honestly be more equipped and with comfort being negligible with the market so competitive.

Just sayin…:

Actually, driving dynamics and performance IS BMWs meal ticket.

Audi and MB have always been ahead with tech and styling but BMW always offered a better drive and more power. And better pricing/discounts.

Also FYI- MB supply chain is so bad that they don't offer v8s for 2022 and they might come back for 2023.

AKA...no AMG 63's. I think just the G wagon and S class will keep v8's.

More to my point, why buy a MB then? If that buyer truly covets that V8 motor, there are other options now. May have to go American (Jeep comes to mind) but there is little incentive.

Don't get me wrong, I am the minority and driving dynamics and performance first and foremost is top on my list. But again, that's like 10-15%.

Just My Opinions: To an extent yes. But even Acura/Lexus are having shortages. The question is what you care and what suits your needs. I wouldn’t care if they removed the wifi hotspot or an wireless charger. I know I and many wouldn’t use those on regular basis. But a better sound system certainly yes.

It's funny that the online builder shows blank dark inserts in place of fog lights when in reality there is a honeycomb grill there as was shown by one of the posters who just got his 2022 45e.

Is the absence of fog lights, HK audio, wireless charging, and enhanced bluetooth worth $3K? Is there anything else that's missing that may attribute to such a price drop? It looks like the luxury seating package is back with full features so no missing lumber support or side bolsters, at least according to the description on the website.

P. S. Price difference breakdown is as follows:

MSRP is lower by $1,700
M Sport package is lower by $1,100
Premium package+heated/climate stuff is $250 lower
Actually surprising BMW has some sense of integrity! Good to see. No cost but the fineline wood trim is still missing.

I'm no audiophile but base speakers on a $70k+ car is sorta embarrassing. Again, supply chain problems but nonetheless…

My BMW dealer told me that the corporate rep came in and they expect a lot of people to convert to BMW for v8's who would normally have gone to MB.

My same build comes out to 400$ cheaper. I'll take it considering I only lost HK compared to the my22 losing - Wireless Charging,Hands Free Tailgate,
Digital Key, and whatever was lost in the Msport package. I think the Sensatech Dash is gone from the Msport package and one other thing I'm assuming. ( 1100 price difference)

With you 100%. The lack of an audio upgrade is a deal killer for me in that price range. Sure, moving to the M50 is an option, but dealers aren't dealing that you can hit $90K in a hurry.

Hands free tailgate is really gone for MY22? If I had known that I would have given the tow hitch more consideration…

Sensatech dashboard is listed on my MY22 build, currently in quality check. I also see it listed as a standard feature on the MY22 45e on the BMWUSA site.

I don't see tailgate option in the MY22 retail guide. Looks like a bunch of stuffs being removed.
