Climate control via iDrive.

I understand just about every major function of my car except for one. I still am unsure of the benefits of using the iDrive to control my climate as opposed to me using the knobs and buttons manually...

In general, I guess I am not really sure how to use the iDrive climate control and how the whole climate control system works in great detail. (Yes I have the instruction booklet, but it's still not very clear to me...)

No benefits in day to day operation. iDrive adds the timer features however.

It allows you to adjust the 3 zone sytem to your exact liking, instead of the BMW chosen one.

It also allows you to set the intensity of the Auto Programmein 3 steps, instead of just having the BMW set one

They are nothing major, but it just allows you to fine tune the system to your likeing

speaking of Idrive and Climate control, has anyone ever gotten the little guy with fan intensity levels on either side to show up in the bottom left of the idrive screen, LIKE in the brochure? If you look in the brochure turn to the page where you see the dashboard showing the idrive, in the bottom left corner of the screen you'll see what im talking about. Anyone know how to make this show up?
