Discovered this in Cuba a few years back. Rum and a splash of Blackcurrant is also quite nice neither will replace JD and diet Coke `tho.

Exactly what I was going to say Cuba Libre

Though I think tradition Cuba Libre is made with white rum, could be wrong though. Should know this as I've been to Cuba a few times, love it

Try a proper Cuban Daiquiri too and a Mojito!!

Won't get Cap. Morgan over in Cuba either Havana Club all the way

We should have a fave drink thread!

I stayed in the dorchester a few weeks back, mohito with 7year aged havana club rum, what a drink!! £14 a mohito though?

Have you tried OP Bundaberg, they do various strength bottles. Its around £35ish for the goodun, and with full fat coke it cant be beat IMO.

You can't beat neat Dissarano straight out of the freezer It's so thick it sticks to the back of your throat.

Too many favourites to list without sounding like a complete alchoholic, many seasonal.

This time of year, Guinness and Whisky (peaty single malts like Laphroaig or Lagavulin).

Can't stand the stuff. Rather partial to a whiskey or dark rum & coke.

Top drink Helen, although I don't like it when made too strong - kinda ruins the taste for me. Me and a mate was drinking it last night when we got home after a night out. One measure of jack in each glass, a can of coke shared between the 2 glasses and a few ice cubes

Excellent

Think you missed Helen's point, but sounds like you may have proved it!

Start the evening with a few lagers, onto a couple of bottles of wine, back to a few lagers, finish the night with several large JD and Cokes. Perfect.

If the night needs livening up insert a couple of Cheeky Vimtos in between lager and the JD's.

Cheeky Vimto

WKD Blue - one bottle
Port - double
Coke - plenty

Served in a pint glass

Goes down like Vimto cordial, always an evening livener, comes up like......
