Digital Key Delete?

We just put in our order for a 228i GC - sport. In the build there was an auto-generated item our dealer didn’t seem to understand: “deletion of BMW digital key.” Any idea why that would get deleted? We opted out of the premium package. From our X4 lease we learned that sometimes BMW embeds features in packages without advertising them. Any ideas? Not going to freak out, just curious why we don’t get this new feature.

Digital key comes with the comfort pack in the UK...

It's the chip shortage. They are removing the feature for your iPhone to act as a key as they don't have the chips necessary for that feature at the minute.
