M Areo kit or not?
Okay, last week some kid nailed the back of my car in his pickup. He took out the rear bumper and trunk lid but didn't touch the quarter panels. It was areally light hit. Anyways he panics and pays me cash ($4k) for the repair as his insurance will freak out on him. While I have it in for an estimate I also ask them to repair the front lip that got damaged by some ice during the winter.
Long story short the dealer says why not put on the M Areo kit. It works out to another $1,200 on top of the original estimate. What do you guys think? I know it would cost about $3,500 to have it done on its own so it is a pretty decent deal. I wouldn't put on the front carbon fiber pieces, they wouldn't live through a winter here. The car is black saphire and I have some replica M5 wheels for it so I think it would look pretty sharp. Just looking for opinions. |

I don't think that I would get the M Aero kit. The front looks ugly. Make the front look boxy. The back is a whole different story. It's actually nice.
Then again, everybody here has different taste. What looks good to you might not look good to someone else.

I wouldnt take a E90 without it
It looks millions of times better than the standard bumpers You dont notice it that much in the pictures, but in real life it sticks out.

I even looked at the carbon fiber lips for the stock bumper, they would cover the oops, but in Canada the price is outragous. Thanks for the input. It seems that everyone other than the US and Canada loves the M kit. I wonder if that is because they have actually seen it in person??? |

Here is my car (Black Sapphire like yours), hope this helps you make the decision.
Whilst I accept everyone has their own opinion, thankfully or we would all be driving the same thing, I have to tell you I love it! Plus, it looks better in real life than in photos and IMHO better than most aftermarket stuff. Anyway, sorry to hear about your car. Hope it gets sorted! FD

Kid lives around the corner. Paid me cash so his parents wouldn't find out. No damage to his Dodge 3500 Ram. Thanks for the pics. I do know that there are only 4 so far in this area which makes it pretty rare. Of course watch next year they will go and offer it as an option. |

Go with the M-Aero kit
My car was hit and I opted for the M kit to try and make something positive out of a crap experience. Same colour as you, and it looks great. Plus, with all the new 3 series starting to pop up on the roads, it's nice to have something different... for now anyways.

But having seen it in the flesh, er, Black Sapphire, I agree with you; the photos don't do it justice.

I would get it if I could..But could you take that $4k and spend it on another aftermarket kit? There are many of them avalaible for E90 but I'm not sure how much they cost..
