Stupid white triangles

I am currently in London on vacation, but I left the manual at home in France. The satnav has been very good, but the screen is covered with dozens of seemingly useless white triangles. These may indicate road works or traffic jams, but there are so many that they obscure half the map. I don't want them, but I can't work out how to switch them off...

Can anyone help?

Move to the icon bar on the left and switch off the info (big i). Hope that's it.

I tried that, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. The triangles are still there
